D&G Utilities took on a low pressure gas service disconnection and installation project in the centre of Barnsley.
Work commenced on the site in May, with the excavation in preparation for installing the PE Gas pipe. Once the excavation work was complete, D&G installed 405m x 125mm PE MP main and a further 5m x 125mm MDPE service terminating internally with a 100mm ECV in bespoke GRP kiosk and base.

Offering a full turn-key solution, D&G supplied and installed the PE gas pipe, in addition to excavating and reinstating all groundwork on completion (including repainting road markings).
As the site was on a public road that was still in use, traffic control measures had to be put in place, to avoid causing too much disruption.

Correct identity tape was laid above the pipework, before fully backfilling and reinstatement of all D&G work. This will enable easy identification should any future excavation work take place on the site.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all work was carried out in the safest possible way. The D&G team adopted social distancing in line with the government’s guidelines, whilst maintaining best practice throughout.
